The Thomas Habeeb IV Wellness and Health Memorial Endowment
Thomas Habeeb IV was the kind of person whose light didn’t just shine, it warmed. A young man of remarkable empathy, quiet strength, and disarming kindness. Thomas had an incredible gift—the ability to connect and lift others; not just passively, but with enthusiasm. With a smile that made people feel seen and valued.
He was the friend who asked if you were okay, and actually meant it. He made a point to reach out, help, or simply listen to people from all walks of life. He was never judgmental and always put others first, showing one of the biggest hearts we’ve ever known. Thomas often sacrificed his own happiness for the sake of others, always striving to be uplifting and supportive to his friends and family.
He never met a stranger, and age, gender, or ethnicity never mattered to him. Somehow, he always found a way to relate to someone’s concerns or worries.
He genuinely loved helping people and was truly a light in this world. Though his time with us was far too short, the way he showed up for others continues to echo through the halls of UNG and in the lives he touched.
Mission Statement
The Thomas Habeeb IV Wellness and Health Memorial Endowment was established to honor Thomas’s legacy by championing what he cared about most: people. At its heart, this endowment exists to support the mental, emotional, and physical wellness of students and staff at the University of North Georgia, empowering individuals to not just survive—but to rise, to grow, and to thrive.
Through strategic partnership with UNG’s Wellness and Health Promotion Programs, the endowment funds and sustains a wide range of services designed to meet students where they are, and walk beside them on the journey toward well-being. These resources may include, but not limited to:
Stress management workshops that help students breathe easier in moments of overwhelm
Nutrition education that promotes healthy, sustainable lifestyles
Harm reduction programming that respects and protects those navigating complex choices
Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug awareness to encourage informed decisions
General wellness events that foster balance and belonging
Mental health resources and outreach that ensure no student has to face the darkness alone
But Thomas’s compassion didn’t stop with students, neither does this endowment.
In alignment with UNG's faculty and staff wellness initiatives, the Habeeb family also provides critical funding for programs such as:
Behavioral Health Resource Advisors
NurseLine and Personal Health Consultant Services
Future Moms and MyHealth Advantage
Radiology and Sleep Management Services
ESRD Support and Quality Care Programs
Community outreach through Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity in Hall County
These programs represent more than checklists; they are lifelines. And Thomas would have been proud to know that his name is now a vessel for hope, healing, and forward motion.
The Thomas Habeeb IV Wellness and Health Memorial Endowment is more than a name. It is a promise. A reminder. A legacy carved not in stone, but in the hearts of those who will be helped; quietly, powerfully, and perpetually, by a young man who believed in showing up for others, no matter the cost.
