The “Good Neighbors Make Great Partners” campaign is an initiative led by State Farm Agents to have more engagement with the University of North Georgia’s Mike Cottrell College of Business.
The initial goal of the partnership was to brand the Sales Lab in the new UNG business building on the Dahlonega campus with the State Farm name and on September 29, 2022 we celebrated that accomplishment!
Year one of the partnership did more than just name a space, we made so many connections between agents, students, and faculty here at UNG. All these connections are growing the talent pipeline for State Farm and our local participating agents.
Our BIG accomplishment in year two was that State Farm Partner Agents funded 7 scholarships for UNG/MCCB students from the areas of finance, sales, and entrepreneurship – including 5 students who were enrolled in the spring 2025 Risk Management & Insurance class.
State Farm Partner Agents are impacting our business students in a BIG way and we want to keep the momentum going and are asking you to contribute $1,250 with a $1,250 match for a total gift of $2,500.
Our year-three goal is to raise $10,000 from 4 State Farm Agents who want to be partners with the UNG Mike Cottrell College of Business for the 2025-26 academic year. The deadline for making your contribution to join the partnership is August 15, 2025.
The dollars raised will be used to:
Give 3 or more “State Farm Scholarships” to students with concentrations in sales, entrepreneurship and finance
Continue to secure a table at the 2025-26 career fairs on the DAH and GVE campuses
Continue to sponsor the MCCB Sales Program and UNG Sales Club
Continue to fund annual networking event with MCCB students
Continue to provide guest speakers for our Risk Management & Insurance class
